The Cultural Association CLESIS ARTE ROMA – S.T.C.M. (Theatre Studio Carlo Merlo), recognized since 1987 by the Italian MINISTRY FOR CULTURAL ASSETS AND ACTIVITIES – Department of Live Performances – for Training, Professional Promotion and Production of Performing Arts, under the sponsorship of REGIONE LAZIO – Department of Culture, Performances and Sport, has opened the admissions at the Courses of:
- Acting/Direction (Two-years) – National Certificate; October 2009/ June 2010;
- Intensive Workshops (Three-months) – Certificate of Attendance;
- Summer Stages;
- Individual Lessons.
The School Courses are based on the INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL METHOD V.D.A.M. (Dynamic Artistic Vocalism Merlo), entirely Italian, created by the Artistic Director and applied in the most important Cinema and Theatre Schools and Academies in Italy and abroad (see M° Prof. Carlo Merlo’s artistic curriculum). This modern and innovative method is obtaining more and more consents all the time. During his career more than 30.000 among the most famous actors, students and professionals of performing and other (see the list in FAMOUS STUDENTS) have attended the individual lessons or the group trainings of Acting, Voice, Singing, Interpretation and preparation for Cinema, prose and Musical texts. Other subjects and activities with teachers and operators of highly artistic competence: Diction, Movement, Stage Combat, Master of Prose and Musical Direction, Performances on stage, Shows with videos. The students, actors and directors, can be members of the “COMPANY S.T.C.M.” for Author Prose Shows and Musicals, classics and modern.

TWO-YEAR ACTING-DIRECTION COURSES

Tri-weekly: Wednesday / Saturday / Sunday (to prepare performances from March to June)

For Two-year Courses/Three-month Workshops are allocated n. 20 SCHOLARSHIPS for both Italian and foreign citizens who succeed in the admission test.
After succeeding in the admission test it is necessary to:
- compile enrolment form;
- give a passport-size photo and a full-figured photo;
- pay the registration and attendance fee (according to different conditions);
- In the judgement of the commission, can attend minors.
ACTOR:
Conversation for checking the candidate’s aptitudes and basis general knowledge, through the lecture of a passage of his/her own choice, monologue or short dialogue. Possible singing and movement proof.
DIRECTOR:
Aptitude test and description of a direction project of prose or musical or short film. Acting proof (lecture of a monologue or short dialogues).
